Halwyn's Tea Gardens

Welcome to Halwyn’s Tea Garden

Halwyn’s is a real old fashioned Tea Garden set on the banks of the river Fal. We over look the Smugglers Inn on the Roseland peninsula. The cottage is set in the middle of mature gardens with stunning views to the left and right, we are south facing and enjoy the sun all day. (Apart from when it’s raining). We have wonderful areas for you to enjoy a light lunch and a cup of loose leaf tea in bone china teacups, and slice of home made cake or a fresh scone with clotted cream and jam. We stock calestick ice cream, and various cold drinks for the young at heart ginger beer is a particular favourite.

The jewel in Halwyn’s crown is the Dell, a stunning area running down to the river where we have a breeze house and a small beach. Wherever possible all meat and produce are locally sourced.

Halwyn’s History:

In 1997 my husband Roy Sutherland-Clark took on derelict 12th century cottage in a green wilderness and promised to bring it back to its original beauty. It had no services of any description, and had not been lived in since 1922. No roof, doors, or windows. But what it did have was an amazing aura; Halwyn draws you in and calms the soul.

We have restored Halwyn to the standard you see today, and we did it with love, reclaim materials and hard graft. We take great pleasure in sharing our beautiful home with our guests, and look forward to seeing old and new friends very soon
